  English 10 is a program of literature designed to broaden opportunities for reading pleasure and develop competency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Preparations for the English Regents continues on this grade level with listening exercises, technical (graph) writing, and a broad understanding of the literary devices employed in the literature discussed. English 10 includes frequent writing assignments: vocabulary study; grammar skills reinforced through writing; fiction, in the form of short stories and several novels such as All Quiet on the Western Front; non-fiction such as Night; a literary research project; book reviews; a drama unit including a Shakespearean play (Othello); and oral activities.

  Participants will learn how to use Audacity, MovieMaker and Photostory wtih students.  In an online environment, teachers will learn to use Audacity, MovieMaker and Photostory and create one audio and one visual product to use with students.  teachers will also have the opportunity to share their work with other teachers and get online feedback.
